You cannot do what I do. But I cannot do what you do. The important thing is that we all do something beautiful for God.
— Teresa of Calcutta

GET INVOLVED

We believe the “fierce urgency of now” is inviting a quiet revolution of courageous people who refuse to accept the world as it is and are willing to immerse themselves into the complexity of change.

But standing up for what we believe often means defying the status quo, digging deep for courage, and chasing down hope. It dares to believe justice and mercy are worthy pursuits in a world that may shirk and scoff.

Together is facilitating a community that is pursuing justice, love and humility. We are convening virtual and in-person gatherings, plus occasional learning trips, to showcase amazing things happening around the world. When we experience goodness, truth, and beauty, we can’t help but change. And tell others too.

  • The question we are pursuing is simple, though far from easy: what change can we make in this world, together, as we also seek our own change.? Our commitment is as much formational as transformational. When love and justice are accompanied by deep humility, change looks less like a program, or even a strategy—as good as those things can be—and more like living life, together, with others on a similar journey.

  • We are facilitating earning experiences focused on several themes. One is the borderlands, the liminal places where refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers live. Borderlands also include people who are displaced in their own countries where violence, extortion or persecution have left millions of people with few choices. Our invitation involves meeting people who are leading change in amazing places. Like Florence, an Kenyan doctor who, with her team, is pioneering practical ministry in some of the most difficult places in the Horn of Africa. Or Marcel, a Congolese pastor and peace builder, who is working on the front lines of war and conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

  • Encountering positive change fosters hope, and often generosity. Philanthropy is not what it used to be. Anyone who courageously gives themselves for the welfare of another person is philanthropist. Becoming a philanthropist belongs to the willing, not the wealthy. Our purpose in convening gatherings is to experience, with others, the possibility of hope. Giving is optional. But this is our commitment: 100% of all giving to charity or cause, through Together International, will go to their work.
